Feast of St. Augustine
We are dedicated to bringing the best of our diverse and multi-cultural history to St. Augustine.
In 1565, the 28th of August, that was the day land was first sighted by the Spanish on their way here to found our city. Don Pedro Menendez de Aviles led the expedition to create what would become known as our nation's oldest city. August 28th, the day of the death of St. Augustine, Bishop of Hippo is celebrated with a great feast.
Saint Augustine is the patron saint of brewers, printing, and theology. Hence, the inspiration for the name of our town and our brand as well, the Feast of Saint Augustine.
